Welcome is a registered charity and the access point for drug and alcohol treatment and support services in Solihull. We want to assist people towards recovery and rebuilding their lives.

We are a member of SIAS (Solihull Integrated Addiction Services) and work in partnership with The Bridge (part of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust), Drug Intervention Programme (DIP), Aquarius, Str8 UP and Changes UK CIC, to ensure that anyone living or working in the Borough whose drug or alcohol use has become problematic has easy access to the treatment and support services they need. We want to assist people towards recovery and rebuilding their lives.

We offer:

  1. Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services
  2. Training, work experience and volunteer placements for local people and ex service users who have become drug and alcohol free
  3. Support services for Families and Friends
  4. Drug and alcohol awareness training for professionals

A Message from the Chief Executive

"I have worked at Welcome for the past seven years. The job I do is hugely varied and challenging. I never have a dull day and I really enjoy my job.

What is wonderful is the team I work with, both at Welcome and within the wider SIAS partnership. Solihull is small and I like that, because everyone working towards the same goal knows each other really well and you always see the same faces.

I am very proud of my team and this includes our fantastic volunteers. The Board of Directors that support Welcome is amazing and multi talented. Without them to call on when I need advice and support Welcome would not be where it is today.

Welcome as a charity has been around for 12 years. We acknowledge that we are in a challenging financial climate in 2013-2014. However, we are busy developing and diversifying to ensure we are still here in another 12 years.

We are developing a range of new initiatives to include a charity shop, recovery café and hub and we are also leading on the development of a range of new initiatives to help people in recovery to "pick up the threads of their lives and find employment".

I am looking forward to the future in my role as CEO at Welcome."
