Welcome

Welcome is a registered charity and the access point for drug and alcohol treatment and support services in Solihull.

We are a member of SIAS (Solihull Integrated Addiction Services) and work in partnership with The Bridge Clinic (part of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust), Drug Intervention Programme (DIP), Aquarius and Str8 UP, to ensure that anyone living or working in the Borough whose drug or alcohol use has become problematic has easy access to the treatment and support services they need.

We also work with and support the families and friends of drug and alcohol users.

We also offer drug and alcohol awareness training to professionals, such as probation officers, social workers and pharmacists.

A Message from the Chief Executive

"I have worked at Welcome for the past five and a half years. The job I do is hugely varied and challenging. I never have a dull day and I really enjoy my job.

What is wonderful is the team I work with, both at Welcome and within the wider partnership. Solihull is small and I like that, because everyone working towards the same goal knows each other really well and you always see the same faces.

I am very proud of my team and this includes our fantastic volunteers. The board of directors that support Welcome are amazing and multi talented. Without them to call on when I need advice and support Welcome would not be where it is today.

Welcome as a charity has been around for 10 years. We acknowledge that we are in a challenging financial climate in 2011. However, we are busy developing and diversifying to ensure we are still here in another 10 years.

We have recently expanded the service into supporting those with alcohol problems and we are also leading on the development of a range of new initiatives to help people in 'recovery to pick up the threads of their lives and find employment.

I am looking forward to the future in my role as CEO at Welcome."
